: Objective: To explore the effectiveness of procedural nursing in painless gastroscopy examination. Methods: From January 2022 to January 2023, 120 patients who underwent painless gastroscopy examination in the gastroenterology department of the hospital were collected and randomly divided into two groups, with 60 cases in each group. The control group and the research group received routine nursing measures and procedural nursing measures, respectively. The check compliance, examination time, occurrence of adverse events, nursing satisfaction, pain score, comfort score and psychology score were compared between the two groups. Results: Regarding the comparison of compliance and nursing satisfaction between the two groups, the total compliance rate and satisfaction rate in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Regarding the examination time and adverse events, statistics and comparisons between the study group and the control group showed that the examination time in the study group was shorter, and the total incidence of adverse events in the study group was lower, both P<0.05. After examination, compared with the control group, the study group scored higher in terms of comfort, while the study group scored lower in terms of pain and psychology, both P<0.05. Conclusion: For patients undergoing painless gastroscopy in the gastroenterology department, implementing procedural nursing measures can enhance patient cooperation, reduce adverse events, alleviate discomfort, ensure the smooth completion of painless gastroscopy, and eliminate adverse emotions, making them more satisfied with nursing services.
