[Abstract]
Objective To investigate the effect of applying extended care services based on family member support for elderly patients with femoral neck fracture (FNF). Methods Seventy-nine elderly FNF patients in our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were divided into two groups according to different care protocols: 39 cases in the control group were given conventional extended care, and 40 cases in the observation group were given extended care services based on family member support. The hip function [Harris Hip Function Scale (HHS)], ability to perform daily living [Ability to Perform Daily Living (ADL)], quality of life, and compliance behavior were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, deformity, pain, joint mobility, function and total HHS scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05); ADL scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group after the intervention (P < 0.05); SQOL scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group after the intervention (P < 0.05); compliance rate was higher in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Extended care services based on family member support can enhance hip function, improve compliance behavior, enhance patients" daily living ability, and improve patients" quality of life in elderly FNF patients.
